Xwi7xwa Library to close to the public until Fall 2022 due to expansion of the First Nations Longhouse

By Library Communications on September 1, 2021

Due to construction related to the expansion of the First Nations Longhouse, the Xwi7xwa Library will be closed to the public until Fall 2022.

The collections offered by the Xwi7xwa Library will continue to be accessible through a delivery service, with the First Nations Longhouse as one of the pick-up locations. Library patrons and community members will also be able to schedule consultations with Xwi7xwa librarians and access reference services in the Longhouse Elders Lounge. The 11 study spaces normally situated in Xwi7xwa will be made available elsewhere in the building for the duration of the project.

“The Xwi7xwa Library team is fully committed to providing accessible access to collections and services while this exciting expansion project is underway. We look forward to seeing faculty, students, and community members from the Longhouse.” Sarah Dupont, Head Librarian, Xwi7xwa Library.
