UBC Asian Library closed for space improvements from January 2 to February 4

UBC Asian Library is undergoing space improvements to replace the carpeting on the main floor and install new public furniture. The branch will be closed to the public starting January 2, 2024, and is expected to fully reopen on February 5, 2024, at regular branch hours.

Collections Service

Areas within the branch will be inaccessible during construction. Intermittent collections service will take place during the closure.

January 2-14

Items can be ordered through Document Delivery, free of charge. Once material is ready, users will be able to arrange for pickup on-site by appointment from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m by emailing asian.library@ubc.ca.

January 15-19

Collections service at UBC Asian Library will be temporarily suspended during this time. Document Delivery requests will not be fulfilled during this period.

January 20-February 4

On-site Reference Service

On-site Instruction

Faculty are encouraged to connect with the appropriate area studies librarian to book a classroom presentation on library resources. Group instruction within the Asian Library will not be possible during the closure.


Off-site Reference and Instruction

Off-site reference and instruction will continue to be available from Monday to Friday, on Zoom or Microsoft Teams throughout the closure. Please contact the your area studies librarian for more information or email asian.library@ubc.ca.
