Xwi7xwa Library reopens its doors to library users

By Library Communications on October 11, 2022

Xwi7xwa Library reopens this week (October 11-14, 2022) to welcome back faculty, staff, students and community members.

Due to construction related to the expansion of the First Nations House of Learning Longhouse, Xwi7xwa Library temporarily closed to the public in September 2021. Over the past year, Xwi7xwa librarians and staff continued to offer scheduled consultations and reference services through the Longhouse Elders Lounge, and ensured that the collections held at Xwi7xwa Library remained accessible to library users through a materials delivery service.

The expansion and remodelling project at the First Nations Longhouse provides much needed additional office and support space as well as meeting and multi-purpose rooms. These spaces, which will be shared by Xwi7xwa Library, will make it possible to host more events, support program growth and strengthen the relationship between the First Nations House of Learning and the Xwi7xwa Library.
