Notice to users: Library catalogue freeze scheduled for April 30 to May 10

UPDATE, May 10, 2021:  Access to the Library’s live catalogue has been restored. Users are now able to renew and recall materials, and pay fines. If you are experiencing any difficulties, please contact us at library.contact@ubc.ca.

Due to an upgrade to the Library’s catalogue, users will not be able to renew or recall materials or pay fines starting Friday April 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. Full service is expected to resume May 10, 2021 at 7 a.m.

Users who have UBC cards will be able to:

  • Order materials through the Materials Pick-up service
  • Access the public workstations in IKBLC with CWL once study space has been booked
  • Continue to access electronic resources through the Library catalogue

Users will not be able to:

  • Renew materials
  • Place recalls
  • Pay fines
  • Access your MyAccount

Users with UBC ID cards issued between April 30 and May 10 will not be able to:

  • Renew materials
  • Place recalls
  • Pay fines
  • Access MyAccount
  • Access materials through the Materials Pick-up service
  • Access public workstations with CWL in IKBLC once study space has been booked

Please note that users will not incur fines for books due during this period.

    Te statement above: “Users who have UBC cards will be able to:
    Order materials through the Materials Pick-up service
    appears to misrepresent the situation.
    When I got to order books from Materials Pickup, that is click on the catalogue entry to try to get to the page which allows me to click on Get It, there is a message saying that I can not renew or recall material.
    The two books I would like (the presence of clumsy online versions does not solve my problem) are HD9685.C33 J367 1999 and HD9685.C3 Q443 2013
