The Library is currently developing a project that is intended to take a big picture approach to faculty knowledge of and ability to implement information literacy education within their instructional practice.
This project, led by the Library’s Teaching and Learning Librarian and a student from the School of Library – Archival and Information Studies (SLAIS), goes beyond the theoretical into practical, concrete activities and learning objects that can help faculty design assignments with information literacy standards, goals and outcomes in mind. The project will draw on data from UBC and other institutions to support this project, and also include interviews with librarians, faculty, students, and CTLT staff to inform the project design.
A final product is projected for December 2013.
*Update: the toolkit is now available online!
