UBC Library is hosting a preview exhibition of the Uno Langmann Family Collection of BC Photographs at the UBC Alumni Centre in honour of the Library’s centennial. Consisting of over 18,000 rare early photographs, the Langmann Collection provides a unique look into BC’s history.
The exhibition preview will offer a first look into the collection in advance of the feature exhibition at Presentation House Gallery, North Vancouver in spring 2016 – one of the Library’s centennial activities. The spring 2016 exhibition will include albumen prints documenting the first nineteenth-century explorations of the province, large hand-coloured panoramic landscapes for CPR offices, records of early industrial development, studio portraits, anonymous snapshots and postcards.
Visitors wanting an early sneak peek can see images from the collection on each floor of the Alumni Centre, related to UBC and BC history.
