We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Philip B. Lind, a Canadian telecommunications icon. The impact of Phil’s generosity and his passion for preserving his family’s history demonstrates the deep respect he had for cultural preservation and education. While the historical objects from the Klondike Gold Rush Collection tell the story of his ancestor’s past, they also inspire our present—providing a tangible link to the lives, achievements, and struggles of those who came before us.
Our thoughts are with the Lind family during this difficult time and we wish to express our gratitude for the honour of preserving this rare collection.
We join UBC Interim Vice-President Deborah Buszard in offering our deepest condolences to the Lind family.
