From November 29 to 30, UBC Library will be hosting information tables to highlight ORCID, a new tool that provides researchers with a unique identifier—an ORCID iD—that helps manage research publications and activities. ORCID provides a clean, easy-to-use interface that connects researchers with their published work, publishers, and funders.
Information tables will be set up at three locations on campus, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., so that students, faculty and staff who work in research can stop by and ask questions.

ORCID is an international system, with more than 5 million researchers registered worldwide. UBC is currently a member of the ORCID.ca consortium, which is working at a national level to coordinate ORCID adoption by higher education, granting agencies, the health sector, and others.
