Upgrades coming to Irving K. Barber Learning Centre February 7 to March 31

By michelle blackwell on February 3, 2017

From Tuesday, February 7, 2017 to March 31, 2017 new carpets and flooring will be installed in the corridor and atrium on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. During this time, study spaces in these corridors will not be available.

The Library will make every effort to maintain available study space for students throughout the library and minimize disruption to building users during these renovations.

The timeline for these upgrades has been accelerated because of funding requirements to complete the work by the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2017).

This renovation is one of several projects planned for 2017 to improve UBC Library spaces and services for UBC students. The renovation in IKBLC will result in improved flooring, seating and furniture at UBC Library’s most traffic-heavy branch.

Students are encouraged to visit the library information desk on the 3rd floor of IKBLC for further information about alternative or additional study spaces at IKBLC.
