Open Education Week 2016

UBC celebrates Open Education Week 2016 from March 7 – 11, with the support of BCcampus. The Library has partnered with the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) to offer a number of workshops in-person or online via Google Hangout.

This session will focus on ways that educational developers, librarians and others on campus can support individual instructors, departments and colleges to integrate open educational resources.

Speakers include a team of instructional designers the University of Saskatchewan and two post secondary librarians from the BCOER Librarians, including Erin Fields, UBC Teaching & Learning Librarian (Flexible Learning).

Engaging Students in Open Education
Moderated by Erin Fields, UBC Teaching & Learning Librarian (Flexible Learning), this panel discussion will highlight open courses, projects and initiatives from UBC and beyond through a series of lightning talks.

Each speaker will present for 8 minutes and respond to questions for 5 minutes. This will be followed by a broad panel discussion about open practice.
