Celebrate Open Access Week

By Jessica Woolman on October 7, 2015

Learn more about the open access movement in BC and Canada on October 22. This year UBC Library has partnered with Simon Fraser University Library, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), BCcampus and the BC Research Libraries Group (BCRLG) to create a unique event as part of International Open Access Week.

Open for Collaboration: Is it Time for Canada to Implement A Unified Open Strategy for Higher Education? is a panel discussion featuring speakers from Simon Fraser University Library, the Mozilla Foundation, University of Victoria Libraries, BCcampus and the University of British Columbia.

The panel, which will be held at SFU’s Harbour Centre, will focus on how BC’s universities and colleges should embrace open practices, and the role of the government and higher education in the open access movement.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information, and to register, view the event listing. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be live webcast (link will not be live until Oct. 22).
