Library’s Chinese collections featured in upcoming talk

UBC Library’s rich collection of ancient Chinese literature will be featured in an upcoming talk on May 19. 

The Library’s Pang Jingtang Collection has attracted scholars from around the world as well as those with an interest in rare Chinese collections. Professor Boyue Yao, a rare books expert from Beijing University Library, and Dr. Bruce Rusk from UBC’s Department of Asian Studies will discuss the history of this special collection and introduce the authentication process of some of the books in the collection.

The audience will get a glimpse of the mysteries of ancient Chinese literature, and hear first-hand from two noted experts. The lecture will be in Mandarin with English translation.
