All rare collections at the Asian Library, including the Puban and Pang Jingtang collections, have now been moved to Rare Books and Special Collections at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, in storage conditions that meet international standards. The removal of all materials from the vault on the ground floor of the Asian Library was completed last week.
Other big sets such as 百 部 叢 書 AC140 P25 S.66, 韓 國 口 碑文 學 大 系 PL 968.4 H34 1980, 大 日 本 進 世史 料 DS803 D28 are now shelved on open stacks towards the end of the lower floor, but not according to call number sequence for the time being.
Library staff are also in the process of moving all the “L” and “G” books to the compact shelving, and relocating all oversized books regardless of call number groups to the shelves against the walls at the lower floor.
Thank you for your patience during these book moves. Please enquire at the circulation desk or contact the language librarians for assistance.
