Word fans and United Way supporters – you’re invited to participate in UBC Library’s second annual Spelling Bee!
Will the victorious English Exoterics, from the Department of English, continue to out-spell this year’s competitors, including their rivals Bee Plus from the School of Journalism? Who will be this year’s dark horse? Will we see a showdown between VP portfolios? Come participate or watch the action on November 9!
Join us for a cross-campus team competition to raise awareness for the United Way. Assemble your best spellers (up to 10) to compete for the United Way Cup of Victory. Your team will go head-to-head with others from various departments and units across campus.
If your team has what it takes to be the ultimate UBC spellers, RSVP with your list of team members by Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 Oct. 28, 2011 by emailing Harry Young at harry.young@ubc.ca. The suggested team entry fee is $5 per person.
The Spelling Bee takes place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 in the Golden Jubilee Room, located on the top level of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.
