Tokugawa maps on display at UBC Library

By Glenn Drexhage on September 24, 2010

Fascinating Japanese maps and notebooks from UBC Library’s Tokugawa Era collection will be on display for all to admire from September 27 to October 1. The exhibit includes maps and atlases from the Tokugawa (Edo) period (1600-1868) on subjects including earthquakes, pilgrimages, and world and domestic travel.

The Tokugawa display is presented in conjunction with the 2010 Japan Studies Association of Canada Annual Conference. Please come view this vital collection at Rare Books and Special Collections (RBSC), located on level one (the lower level) of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. RBSC is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
