UBC Library featured in Ubyssey article on Distance Education

By Glenn Drexhage on September 17, 2008

Leonora Crema of UBC Library is featured in an article on distance education in the Ubyssey, UBC’s student newspaper.

In 2007, over 6000 students were registered in [Distance Education] courses. Of these students, 88 per cent were enrolled simultaneously in on-campus courses. According to Leonora Crema, Head of Borrower Services and a UBC librarian with over 20 years of experience assisting e-learners, “The main advantage [to DE courses] is clearly life convenience, including more flexibility in regard to family and economic concerns.”
